Sean McMahon

Sean McMahon President, Chief Executive Officer

As President and co-founder, Sean oversees all aspects of our company, including direction, strategic planning, and day-to-day operations. In addition, he strives to instill a genuine culture of professionalism, responsiveness, and integrity throughout our energetic team.

Sean was also a founding management team member at TrafficLeader, Inc., a world-renowned search marketing company formed in 1999. At this company, he was directly responsible for forging certified partnerships with all major search engines. He, and his former partners, profitably grew this company for several years, until it was acquired by Marchex, Inc. (NASDAQ: MCHX) in October 2003.

Sean has successfully launched, managed, and sold four (4) diverse companies over the past two decades. He began his career as Brand Manager at Anheuser-Busch, Inc., and has a Master of Business Administration degree from Saint Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri. His passion for college football was acquired as a walk-on during his undergraduate studies at Oklahoma State University.

Sean is also a founding Director of Search Engine Marketing Professionals of Portland (SEMpdx), an organization based in Portland, Oregon created to inform and educate regional businesses on the benefits of data-driven marketing.

Kent Schnepp

Kent Schnepp Chief Strategy Officer

Since our inception, Kent has been responsible for the design, structure, and improvement of systems to deliver our world-class services to online commercial entities and interactive media agencies.  He also oversees all aspects of the branding, messaging, and positioning of our company.

In addition to driving business development strategies, Kent continuously focuses on enhancing the quality of our client relationships, and on continuously exceeding the success metrics of all client engagements. With a decade of Internet marketing experience, his extensive design, development, and optimization knowledge has made him a recognized expert in our space.

Prior to co-founding EngineWorks, Kent was founder and president of a successful online media agency focused on site design and Web applications for both large and small commercial entities. Before owning this agency, Kent was Art Director for three years at MLS, Inc., a leading online catalog publisher.

Kent, who is also on the Board of Directors at SEMpdx, earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Visual Design from the University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon. When not powering strategy for our clients, you can usually find him powering up a hill, either on his road bike, mountain bike, or downhill skis.

Paul Mardesich

Paul Mardesich Chief Financial Officer

(Lola is sitting in for Paul until his picture is posted.) Responsible for the financial supervision and guidance of our company, Paul brings more than twenty years of new venture management, business finance direction, and operational experience to EngineWorks.

Paul has been an investor and founder in several Internet and technology companies during the past decade, including YumFinder.com, an online marketing program that connects restaurants with frequent diners. He was also founder of Golf503.com, a company that provides online reservations and interactive tee-time scheduling for golf courses.

Prior to launching Golf503.com, he was an advisor and interim Chief Financial Officer at the search marketing company co-founded by Sean McMahon.  At this former SEM company, Paul was instrumental in securing and managing the firm’s initial seed capital.

In the early 1990s, Paul was on the executive team and Board of Directors at Claremont Technology Group, Inc., a systems integration company. As Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President of Corporate Administration, Paul was instrumental in launching Claremont’s successful initial public offering (IPO) in July 1996.


Mike Rosenberg

Mike Rosenberg Vice President of Client Acquisition

Mike oversees all revenue initiatives from new and existing clients at our company. His extensive knowledge of performance-based advertising, advanced selling skills, and media agency experience, enables him to successfully convey the benefits of data-driven marketing services to our world-class clients.

As a frequent panelist at industry conferences, Mike delivers insightful presentations to associations such as the American Marketing Association (AMA), Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI), Search Engine Marketing Professionals of Portland (SEMpdx), and Online Marketing Summit (OMS).

Prior to EngineWorks, Mike was Vice President of Sales and Client Services for Global Events Group, an events marketing company in Portland. He also founded Rosenberg Marketing, LLC, a sales and marketing agency servicing regional clients such as the Portland Marathon, FIRST Robotics Competition, and American Le Mans.

Mike earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration through the Lundquist College of Business at the University of Oregon. An active board member of SEMpdx, Police Activities League of Greater Portland, and Oregon Museum of Science & Industry Gala’s Marketing Committee, he also received the Portland Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 award, which recognizes exceptional executives under the age of 40.

Chris McCluskey

Chris McCluskey Director of Technology

Since late 2005, Chris has directed the creation of advanced technology applications used to deliver data-driven solutions to our world-class clients. In addition to developing and managing our proprietary suite of research and analysis applications, he is responsible for all in-house networking configuration and system administration.

Along with his superior code-writing skills, Chris is fully proficient in online tracking installation and reporting, and has created several exclusive search engine automation tools at our company. He has also designed and built our internal client management system known as DYNO.

For several years before EngineWorks, Chris was a Computer Programmer at MLS, Inc., a leading online catalog publisher located in Eugene, Oregon. Working mainly in ASP and SQL Server, he wrote and maintained original software applications, and continuously enhanced in-house code performance.

Chris earned his Associate of Science degree in Computer Programming prior to his position at MLS. He can usually be found staring at multiple screens here at EngineWorks. You may also catch him spinning Drum and Bass, House, and Downtempo records at a local club, or pursuing individual freedom during his annual pilgrimage to Burning Man.


Angela Yost

Angela Yost Director of Client Acquisition

With almost a decade of professional online marketing experience, Angela is responsible for our Client Acquisition initiatives including new client implementation and management. She joined our fledgling company in early 2006, after mastering her sales and customer service skills as Senior Account Executive at Atlas Solutions, which was purchased by Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) in 2007.

While at Atlas Solutions, Angela was directly responsible for revenue realization through online commercial entities and Interactive media agencies. In addition to this sales experience, she was instrumental in contributing to the rapid expansion of GO TOAST, LLC, the former Paid Search management applications firm which became Atlas Solutions when it was acquired by aQuantive, Inc. in December 2003.

Along with client acquisition responsibilities at these former online media companies, Angela performed professional training, account management, and promotional activities at industry trade shows and conferences.

Angela received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Psychology from Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts. She also participated in an overseas study program at the University of Westminster in London, England. Having traveled to 43 countries (and, counting!), it’s obvious that her passion lies in discovering new lands, experiencing new cultures, and making new friends.

Scott Fish

Scott Fish Director of Search

Scott is responsible for imparting his advanced knowledge of data-driven marketing strategies to all team members, and for overseeing all client relationship and account management functions. Along with his best practices acumen, Scott is fully proficient in the latest Search Engine Marketing strategies, including advanced Link Building, proper code structure and optimization, enhanced content creation, and engaged social media promotions.

Prior to joining EngineWorks in 2007, Scott was the Domain Sales and Acquisitions Manager for Dotster, Inc., one of the world’s largest Internet domain registrars. In this previous position, he managed a portfolio of more than half-a-million online domains. He was also founder of his own Search Engine Marketing company in April 2005.

Over the past half decade, Scott has mastered professional search marketing strategies including in-depth keyword research, link-building campaigns, site architecture analysis, and search engine indexing. He is also a regular speaker at industry events such as Online Marketing Summit (OMS) and eMarketing Summit at InnoTech.

A Portland native, Scott received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications from Oregon State University. When he’s not honing his interactive marketing skills, Scott can usually be found chasing a rubber ball around an glass-enclosed court (as a highly ranked amateur racquetball player in Oregon).

Steve Burnett

Steve Burnett Director of Paid Search Strategies

A seasoned interactive marketing veteran, Steve Burnett, oversees the creation and implementation of Paid Search Marketing applications and campaigns in his position as Director of Paid Search Strategies here at EngineWorks. In addition, he actively manages Paid Search Marketing engagements and performs account strategy functions for some of our most prominent clients.

Steve, who has substantial experience providing advanced marketing solutions to commercial websites of all sizes, began his career at EngineWorks in early 2009 as a Search Performance Specialist. Prior to joining our team, he was the E-Commerce Analyst – SEM and Shopping Portals at Motosport.com, one of the fastest growing retailers of power sports apparel, parts and accessories. At Motosport.com, he implemented and directed all facets of the company’s seven-figure Paid Search Marketing campaign.

Before Motosport.com, Steve held Account Executive and Client Acquisition roles at both Dex One Corporation, and at Yahoo! Inc. In his position at Yahoo!, he performed the duties of Search Marketing Consultant and Search Account Manager. He also brings proven media agency experience to our professional Performance Team.

Steve earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism/E-Media from the University of Oregon, in Eugene, Oregon. An avid mountain biker, he often spends his weekends blasting the trails of Portland and Central Oregon.

Valerie McMahon

Valerie McMahon Director of Administration

Since 2006, Valerie has overseen all of our administration functions, including accounting and human resources. Working closely with our CFO, Paul Mardesich, she efficiently maintains our day-to-day processes and our monthly financial records. In addition, she coordinates the integration of client campaigns, manages search engine billing accounts, and processes all invoices and payments.

As the Accounting Administrator at TrafficLeader, Inc., a professional search marketing firm in Eugene, Oregon, Valerie honed her proficiency in advanced record-keeping and financial reporting for several years before joining our company. During her tenure at this former SEM company, she also worked along-side Paul Mardesich, who was TrafficLeader’s interim CFO.

Valerie’s diverse background, including many years of professional television acting, live theater, and voice-over work, has prepared her well for this crucial career position at EngineWorks. She truly keeps our company humming . . . and our team members happy (she manages payroll!).

Valerie earned her Master of Science degree in Psychology from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California. She is also very proud to have an undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Texas in Austin, Texas. You can always find Valerie rooting for her beloved Longhorns, especially come football season.
