Your Facebook fan page is one of the best places to engage and communicate with people interested in your brand. Unfortunately, many fan pages fall short in this crucial area. PORTLAND, Ore. (July 20, 2010) — EngineWorks, Inc. (www.engineworks.com), a data-driven Internet marketing company, is pleased to announce that its international cycling team, lead by experienced road racing expert Gary Spodnick, participated in the L’Etape du Tour event during the 2010 Tour de France road bike race in Pau, France on July 18, 2010.
Translated as ‘Stage of the Tour’, the L’Etape du Tour is an annual event that allows amateur cyclists to race over the same route as an actual stage of the Tour de France. First held in 1993, this year’s L’Etape du Tour drew more than 9,500 riders from around the world. Outfitted in exclusively sponsored EngineWorks cycling gear, Team EngineWorks also recently competed in The La Fausto Coppi, a legendary cycling race named after the Italian rider Angelo Fausto Coppi, which originated in Cuneo, Italy. This challenging 200 kilometer road race looped its way through the daunting mountains of Northern Italy, and culminated at the original starting point in Cuneo.
In addition to riding in the 181 kilometer L’Etape du Tour race on July 18, 2010, Team EngineWorks is taking advantage of cycling courses in Europe, including the famed Paris-Roubaix in Arenberg, Belgium, to train for upcoming races. The team was able to ride the final 20 kilometers of this technically challenging cobble-stoned stage of the Tour de France during a recent training session.
Coincidentally, while participating as a spectator of the Tour de France, team leader Gary Spodnick was interviewed by France 2TV in Cambrai, France while wearing his Team EngineWorks warm-up gear.
