ComScore: Cyber Monday Spending up 15 Percent

Posted by Scott Fish on 12.03.2008

The Monday after Thanksgiving has become a very important day for online retailers, representing $846 million in spending this year alone, which is up 15% from last year, according to ComScore.

Cyber Monday is the second strongest day of the year for retailers, as many people return to work and log on to find out the latest and greatest deals from their favorite stores.

Benefiting from deep discounts, online retailers have seen an up tick in spending over the traditional brick-and-mortar chains due to consumers looking for more bargains this year.  “Consumers are clearly responding positively to retailers’ aggressive online discounts,” comScore Chairman Gian Fulgoni said in a statement.

We’re excited to hear this positive news here at EngineWorks.  Many companies that we work with have offered discounts during this holiday season, reaching out to the price sensitive consumer.
