B2B Companies Turn to Interactive Marketing

In an encouraging article today titled ‘B2B Marketers Ready to Spend Online’, eMarketer reports that a study by Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business reveals that business-to-business (B2B) companies in the United States expect to spend more marketing dollars on Internet advertising compared to traditional media channels in the coming ten (10) months.  In fact, the B2B companies in this report, which was sponsored by the American Marketing Association, stated that they are going to increase their interactive marketing budget by more than 18% during this time period.

Ethical SEO . . . Which Hat Do You Wear?

This morning, Search Engine Land published a thought-provoking article written by fellow search marketing professional Shari Thurow, author of the book Search Engine Visibility, titled ‘SEO Ethics Are In The Eye Of The Beholder’ that astutely points-out that one person’s definition of ‘ethical SEO’ may be considered ‘black hat’ by another individual.  This difference in opinion is obviously created by the fact that there is not a standardization of optimization techniques within our hyper-evolving industry.

Shop.org Conveys the Importance of Connecting to Teen Communities

In an article titled ‘Social, mobile lead engagement for generation Y: Shop.org keynote’, DMNews provided a recap of the keynote presentation delivered by Don Tapscott, author of Wikinomics, at the Shop.org Annual Summit taking place during the past couple of days in Las Vegas.  The real-insight to be gleaned from this keynote address is the fact that today’s teenager is mobile, and connected to social networks, which means that in order to reach this lucrative demographic, savvy marketers today need to create content that allows for multitasking.

Each month on our EngineWorks site, we update the current market share percentage of the top ten largest search engines based upon total number of online searches.  It’s not necessary to go this section of our site however to know that Google dominates the online search industry.  The purpose for this blog post is to put this dominance into graph form.
