EngineWorks Welcomes Inaugural Intern

by Sean McMahon | July 8, 2008

Today, we are pleased to announce that Courtney Nelson has accepted our first Search Engine Marketing Internship position within our dynamic Operations Department. This new internship is designed to provide professional instruction and education pertaining to SEM strategies and techniques to bright individuals with little or no real-world interactive marketing experience.

Courtney is a recent graduate from the University of Oregon with a double journalism major in both advertising and public relations. While completing her studies in Eugene, she participated on the team which placed 1st in the District XI Regional Challenge of the 2007-2008 University of Oregon National Advertising Student Competition.

As Promotions Manager for her team during this nationwide Student Competition, Courtney spearheaded the creation of a Social Media Marketing campaign for America Online’s new AIM Social Media offering. This social networking campaign was designed around the ‘What’s Your Language?’ theme created by Courtney’s team.

We are extremely encouraged with the impressive talent level that Courtney brings to our rapidly growing search marketing company. In just the first couple of days that she has been in her intern position, she has already been exposed to search engine marketing basics that should enable her to quickly contribute to the success of our client campaigns.

Courtney is also eager to rapidly expand her knowledge of search marketing strategies, as evidenced by her following statement: “At most colleges and universities, search marketing is not a course currently available to students. Therefore, I felt that I could gain invaluable insight into professional online promotional campaigns through this exciting internship.” She also exclaimed that she perceives that the best way to quickly learn the ins-and-outs of search engine marketing is to “jump right in and perform actual research and analysis on real client campaigns”.

Please join us in welcoming Courtney to our team of search marketing experts.
