Love or Hate New Domain Names
June 23, 2008This morning, an article from Yahoo! News announced that The Internet Corporation of Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), the non-profit California-based organization responsible for assigning domain names, is scheduled to vote this week on releasing new domain names.
The result of this vote could open-up new domain names featuring generic addresses such as ‘.love’, ‘.hate’, ‘.bank’, and ‘.city’ as early as the first quarter 2009.
