Social Dominance . . . Top 10 Social Networking Sites

This week, Hitwise released a report that reveals the dominant position that MySpace commands in the social media space.

As shown in the following graph, the world’s most popular online social community represented more than 41% of total US visits to social networking and community sites in March 2008.

It is evident from this chart that MySpace, having almost 5 times the market share of its nearest competitor, is positioned exceptionally well as the conversation between brands and consumers moves beyond its embryonic stage.

    Interesting stats. Doesn’t Google have a large SN website called something like orcut? I think it is meant to be very popular in Brazil.
