Jimmy Wales, Wikipedia Founder & Kent Schnepp at SMX Social

I had a great time at the SMX Social Media conference in Long Beach and as always, feel that the SMX conferences are incredibly valuable.  Unfortunately, I had to skip part of the last day due to an early flight back to Portland.  The following are my highlights from the trip:

  • All of the presentations were outstanding but I really enjoyed Jane Copland‘s presentation on “Linkbaiting in The Real World.”
  • The conference was small, by most SEM conference standards, but I was able to meet quite a few people including the notorious SEO Hack.
  • A big thank you goes out to Danny Sullivan, Chris Sherman and Sean Moriarty for a fantastic dinner.
  • I truly enjoyed meeting Jimmy Wales, Founder of Wikipedia and fellow Objectivist.

For some great photos of the conference take a look at Scott Clark’s Flickr stream. I’m already looking forward to SMX Advanced in Seattle!
